I want t report another problem in RC2 when running multiple VM's (I already reported that 2 or 3 times of 10 the OS lockup and requires power cycle) Now I found something else. When running XP in 1680x1050 (native for 17") and another linux VM in console (inittab 3) also set to full screen (the screen just stretches). Now I am using latest Virtue Desktop when I switch between screens. When in fullscreen Linux (console) switch to XP or Mac OS both of them stay in the low resolution. So not more I think about it it might be little probe with Virtue DEsktop not remembering its screen size and setting it to higher/native resolution. Perhaps you guys can talk with Virtue developer and come to conclusion how this could be fixed. Let me know if you need any other info. Also does anyone has OS lockups when starting second VM? Are there any info I can provide to help resolve this for RC3?
Re: full screen - I run in windowed mode using a custom resolution 1680x950 which keeps the dock visible so I don't run into these problems. With Virtue, I had similar issues. Re: lockup - Each virtual OS I run (all Windows currently), I have them set to use 512MB except Win 2003 at 768MB. If I've been running parallels at all, and exit and restart, it will almost always dump when the second OS is started. After a fresh reboot, it will usually work for the 1st two OS launches. Note that I have nothing else running but I do have a few add ons (MenuMeters, etc.). I think there is a leak somewhere that is causing memory corruption of somekind. I base this hypothesis only on cursory indications of the memory consumption after I exit PWS which never drops back to pre-launch levels.
I've also had many MacOS lockups. It seems to happen the most when I'm using a lot of memory-intensive applications, but it seems to happen regardles, Win 2k3 server locked up on me while installing and I had no other applicaitons running at the time.
