Amazon Prime HD video streaming issue

  1. Amazon Prime Instant Video HD programmes are incompatible with Mac OS X at present, so I view them on a 32 inch 1080p TV connected to my MacBook Pro (13" late 2011 running Yosemite 10.10.2 and Parallels Desktop 10 with a Windows 7 Professional 32-bit VM) through a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter cable. Mostly this works just fine with occasional buffering pauses on my 4.2-ish Mb/s broadband connection. The Mac's energy saving preference is set to "never" sleep - and a similar setting is selected in the Windows control panel. Occasionally (maybe twice or three times an hour, but at irregular intervals, the video reverts to the Windows wallpaper or the login screen blue background, but the sound continues normally. a few frantic mouse-clicks usually brings up the login screen and entry of the user password instantly restores the video - still synchronised with the continuing normal sound. I have spoken to a number of Windows experts who are as mystified as I am and their consensus suggests that it may be a virtualisation issue. It's not critical, but very annoying when it occurs. I don't know at this stage whether the problem occurs with other streaming sources such as iPlayer, as I watch these in Mac OS!
    Any suggestions out there?

    Hi ColinM1,
Try changing your network type to Bridged mode under VM Config -> Hardware -> Network 1 -> Choose : Default Adapter
Also, ensure that you are running the latest build of Parallels Desktop ( http://kb.parallels.com/111603 )
If the issue still persists, you may also try to uninstall Parallels Tools and re-install it again as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/4841
