After installed 3846 "Can't access Hard Disk 1"

    I just updated from 3844 to 3846 (running Leopard, not Snow Leopard); install went fine but when I restarted I got message "Unable to install Hard Disk 1 Input/Output error" and Windows hangs as its loading. Any ideas?
