    Is there any way to get Aero running in a Win7 VM, or is this something planned for future updates?

    For Aero you will need DirectX support.
    AFAIK this is only supported on Parallels Workstation 4.0 Extreme. Special hardware requirements are also present but superior performance will be the result.
