This hack is supposed to enable Aero on DirectX 8.1 Graphics Cards. I tested this hack on an old PC box I had and sure enough it works with an Intel 950 graphics card which is DirectX 8.1 only. Aero was a bit slow on that box but was working. Then I entered the same steps into Parrallels and no luck at all. Wondering if the DirectX 8.1 emulation included in Parrallels is not a full hardware emulation which is why this Aero hack does not work in Parrallels. Maybe someone else can try it and report if it works for them or not. Source of hack is following: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=503813
Well, my problem is, that even the performance check of Vista refuses to run. It just seems to crash every time. What's up with that?
cos parallels only supports DX8 and vista expects higher... the advertising did point out Aero wouldnt be in the initial 3.0 release.
