Hi, I've had to install a new, larger, hard drive on my system and now Parallels won't allow updates because it says I need to register, but I'm already registered, and in the "About Parallels" dialogue it shows as a registered product. How can I fix this? Thanks. David
Hello, you should register at our website and register your activation key to use updates system. Best regards, Stacey
Stacey, If you read my OP that's my point. I am already registered. How do I do this a second time? David
Yup, and the "about" box says it's activated etc. I think changing the hard drive and cloning from one to the other may have been the problem.
Similar problem here I registered my activation key in the My Account section of the website a few months ago (checked just now, and it tells me I have already registered this key). Even so, when Parallels did its automatic check for an update, and told me one was available, I couldn't update via the app's update dialog - it complained that my copy was not registered (might have been not activated - didn't note the exact wording). Note that in both the About Parallels window and on the website I am told that the product is registered to me. I got around the problem by manually downloading the latest build and installing. Still, I thought you should know that the activation/registration (and auto update) process is broken for at least one other user...
torchydt, are you trying to update Parallels Desktop 3.x? If so, you should go to our web-site. Log in to your account and register your key in 'Product Registration'. John Cunningham, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. This issue occurred due to the technical problems with our web site that are likely to be fixed within a week. Best regards, Stacey
