Hi, I had this working once but it has since broken and I cannot find the cause. I want to have PDF files opened under Windows XP to open on the Host (Mac OS X) Acrobat or Preview. Same with other files if I try to open them under Mac from Windows. But, now opening a PDF in Windows only starts Acrobat but the file does not open. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Parallels. I've uninstall/reinstalled the tools. I've checked that I can access the files from Mac OS X. Running Windows XP SP3, Parallels 5.0.9310, Snow Leopard 10.6.2 (32-bit kernel), MacFUSE 2.0.3. Any help or guidance is much appreciated! j.
Any help? Hi, Anyone have some ideas? It's driving me nuts that I can't open any files using my Mac apps from Windows. Thanks! j.
Hi jlf, thank you for report. We are aware of the issue, which should be fixed in next update of Parallels Desktop 5. However, we cannot provide you with exact ETA.
i have the exact same thing (and builds) and its also driving me nuts!!! funny thing is 'Open on Mac' in the contextual menu on windows works perfectly ....
Hi ikisai, please try latest build 9344, available via autoupdater or download from Parallels website: http://www.parallels.com/download/desktop/
Acrobat Starts but doesn't open I'm experiencing the same problem with version 6 of Parallels. Build 6.0.11994 (Revision 637263; February 17, 2011) Any updates on this? Can you please respond ASAP, as this is an urgent issue we're having. I believe it might have something to do with my mac not having access to the temporary internet file folder.
Also In response to my previous post, I thought it might also be helpful to let you know - this virtual machine is running my bootcamp partition. I'm using Window mode.
Any progress I am having the same problem only after I used Migration Assistant to move from one computer to another. Have you come across a fix for the issue?
Problem Solved I just got off the phone with Parallels support. I had to install MacFuse. Here is the link to download MacFuse http://www.tuxera.com/mac/macfuse-core-10.5-2.1.9.dmg Once installed I could display pdf's on the mac just fine. Hope this helps.
