i have parrallels desktop 7 for mac I tried to install ubuntu via the live CD, first problem, couldnt run 64-bit linux kernel (im on a 64bit intel mac btw), with the error that the architecture was i386 as apposed to i686. I tried the 32-bit version but i just end up with an empty black screen with white underscore, suggesting nothings happening. Then i tried using the download for ubuntu, after downloading it i ran it with (once again) very little success. It runs GRUB but it then just stops, and parrallels appears to think its shut itself down!! May be worth noting that: the .hdd file is called ..-amd64-.. despite before warning me about 64 bit, and when i set the same vm to boot from the 64-bit ubuntu installer it complains about architecture. It may also be worth noting that i get error 507 for lack of virtualization support (but i dont know how to enable this)
