I would like to install Parallels on a Mac in order to use XP when needed. Can my XP installation be effected with a virus ? I don't run any A/V on my Mac and prefer not to.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Yes it can be affected. You don't have to run av in OS X, just in the xp VM.

You could always just keep a backup clone of your xp installation and retore it when/if you get a virus. There is very little way that a windoze virus can propogate to a mac since the OS and file structure are entirely different, and the virus will be targeted to the OS that is online.

but an online windows machine with a virus can be a nasty thing for other net users.. AVG has a free antivirtus product you can use under windows. Google should help you find it.
