When Parallels staff comment on this support forum they often recommend doing a "clean install" of Parallels instead of a simple upgrade. The procedure for this is just too complex and error-prone, given how important it is. Perhaps "clean install" could be an automated option at upgrade time?

    Hello Scotto,

Automatic uninstall through .dmg file is supposed to delete Parallels files the same way you can delete them manually ("clean uninstall"). When upgrading please use your .dmg file.

So uninstall option is automated. A "full uninstall" with sudo rm commands is only proposed in case of troubleshooting when a usual uninstall does not remove some files for some reasons.

    Best regards,
