Since the 7.0.15050 release I've been real happy: Soft-scaling the guest OS resolution makes Parallels really useful when it's run in a separate space in full screen, and it's been chugging along very nicely on my MBAir.
The only gripe I have is that when I switch into the Parallels space the mouse cursor remains a "Mac" style dark mouse cursor for a bit before it changes to a Windows style white cursor. That's a bit odd. But I'm sure it'll be fixed in a subsequent release.
    Thanks!

    Update to 15050 fails

I saw the update, spent an hour or so downloading it, then got this message:

The update could not be downloaded. Please check your network connection and try again.

My connection is perfect. Every time I try to download it now, I immediately get the same response. My current version is 7.0.14924

Probably the easiest method to get the update is if you download the trial. The trial is always the newest version and is the same as the retail version in all respects - what makes it a trial is the trial serial number. If you have a retail version of Parallels, installing the trial is the same as updating Parallels. It won't ask you for a serial number since you already have one.
Just power down your VM, install the current trial version, and start your VM. That's all.

On the same page you get the trial you have a link below that says "Already have an activation key?", use that, simple.

    Shaddam IV,

Mouse remains Mac-look until your first click - it should be grabbed by Parallels Virtual Machine - it is not a kind of behaviour which need to be fixed, it is just how it works

    Received the same message

However, it did end up loading version 15050 despite the message. But with this update, my windows side has been running a lot slower on bootup and I have experienced a lockup.

Anyone else having issues with this update?

    7.0.15050:

I had a similar problem with the latest update i.e no network connection. I loaded the trial version and that included the update, no activation problems, however tools then tried to update and got stuck for ever at 15% and Windows 7 would not load.. I killed the agent in Activity monitor and then restarted my machine. Parallel tools then downloaded and updated, windows started and all seems OK now.

I noticed a small symbol in the bottom RH corner of the Parallel window that said Tools needed to be updated.

If it is saying tools need to be updated - go to Control Panel --> Add remove programs and check the build number of tools installed. If it is different from build you have downloaded - go to Virtual Machine menu and click 'Update Parallels Tools'.

This can be painful as far as you have mentioned problems with initial installation, so make a snapshot before.
