    Hi,

I'm running PD build 3188 on a MacBook C2D with Windows XP SP2 (up to date - not bootcamp).

Coherence mode works great when I set the MacOS X Dock to be always visible (i.e. not auto-hide). If I click on the Parallels icon in the dock, the Windows XP start menu is displayed allowing me to launch any Windows application i want.

However, if I set the MacOS X Dock to hide itself automatically, i can't get the Windows XP Start menu to display anymore when clicking the Parallels icon in the Dock. Clicking the icon has no effect whatsoever. The only way to get to the Windows Start menu is to right-click on the Parallels icon in the Dock and choose "Start Menu". Then the Start menu appears at the bottom left side of the screen. A minor but very inconvenient bug. Is there any plan to fix this soon or any workaround?

It isn't a bug. Our developer did so specially. I recommend you to do following. When you use Coherence mode please go to the tab "View"(at the top of Mac screen) ->"Customize..."-> check "Show" -> OK. So you will see and have access to "Start Menu" permanently.

This is a terrible workaround. It would be much better if the parallels icon functioned the same whether the OS X dock was set with auto hide enabled or disabled. All other application's icons work the same way, why shouldn't Parallels?

I agree, the icon should behave normally unless you change the settings.
It just sounds like a problem of defaults...

OK so this is an intentional bug. Still a bug though. Setting "Show" to Yes will show the Windows task bar permanentaly on screen which is ugly so this is not an ideal solution. Why did your developer "did so specially"? I can't think of any reason for this odd behaviour. The best thing to do would be to simply have the same behaviour whether the Dock is set to auto-hide or not: a click on the Parallels icon in the Dock causes the Windows Sart menu to show up. I hope that this will be fixed in the next version.
