2X WebPortal client proxy support

    Hi,

The 2X WebPortal would be a perfect Citrix alternative if it's able to push the system or browser configured proxy settings to the client. In Citrix' case it first tries to use the proxy and falls-back to direct connection. That way it should work in all cases.

Currently you have to configure it manually in the client settings, which is too complex for most of our users (and we'd like to have it work seamlessly). Also when an user changes it's Windows password, the 2X proxy settings have to be changed as well. Too much trouble. It would be very neat if the 2X Client proxy settings could be auto-detected and enabled by default.

Hopefully this will be included in the feature request list, I think a lot of users are helped with this.

Since many companies use proxies as an extra isolation layer ( another layer of authentication) for access to the network does it make sense to push the settings to the client rather than have a 2x gateway not on the proxy?

Sorry for digging up an old thread which I've never responded to. Probably I didn't explain correctly what I meant with pushing the settings. All I was thinking of, is letting the 2X client automatically make use of the configured system / IE proxy settings, with an option to bypass it (however this could also be specified in the system / IE proxy settings, e.g. to exclude the local network from going through the proxy). If it would work that way, the 2X client could be easily implemented everywhere, without having local admin to make exceptions in the firewall (which isn't always possible). We'd like to give our users a seamless experience using the webportal from anywhere. Citrix works the same way.
