Aloha, I am running Parallels 11 on my MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. It all seems fine, however, the folder still says windows 7 on it. It looks like it still has the windows 7 start menu. Is that normal, or should it be changed? Also, some of the programs I launch now seem to have the screen resolution way off. It looks like they are using large, out of focus fonts. Is there a way to fix that? Mahalo in Advance...
Update. I figured out the screen resolution issue. I went to windows 10 and adjusted the resolution. However, I am still wondering why Parallels identifies windows 10 as windows 7. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello Lance, To change your Windows Virtual Machine name from Windows 7 to 10, please refer to this article To fix your screen resolution issue, reinstall Parallels Tools - Please let us know if you were able to fix it.
Ok, Maybe I wasn't clear in my question about the name. As you can see by the sleep mode, I have installed windows 10. However, Parallels still says it is running windows 7. I tired to change the name, but even after I open the lock, it won't allow me to edit it. I'm also not sure what it means when it says to "resume the virtual machine" Is it a big deal to leave it like that?
Hi Lance, please shut down the virtual machine and then try to change the name. To shut down refer to this KB article.
