    I have also upgraded to PD8 for Mac. Running Parallels on Desktop 5 and VM's are launching on Desktop 1. It was happening with the most recent PD7...

    kdgone, I have been seeing the exact same behaviour here with Ubuntu 12.04 and the flashing Unity bar etc. I installed Fedora 17 to test that...

    Just installed Win8 Dev under Parallels 7 and its running fine. Did not install the parallels tools.
