Thanks for all of your help. I deleted and reinstalled a new VM.
Is my virtual hard disk that I was using corrupted that I cannot use for the new installation or do I have to use a newly created one?
Unfortunately, I tried both of the methods you mentioned and they didn't work. Any other options left and is my hard drive a goner?
