Hi, I've getting an error message when I open up my Windows XP guest OS. The Screen resolution i nthe guest OS cannot be set because it is low on video memory. To increase the amount of video memory, shutdown the virtual machine, set new virtual machine video memory size (Edit Configuration -> Memory -> Video Memory). [OK] I have the slider up to 64MB. My Mac Pro is running dual monitors at 1920 X 1200. Thanks, I'm looking forard to any help you can provide! Scott
Hello Scott, Please try the following: 1. Ctrl-click (right-click) on the Windows Desktop. You will see the drop-down menu. Choose "Properties". 2. In the opened window, open the "Settings" tab and click on the "Advanced" button. You will see another window, click "Troubleshoot". 3. You will see the "Hardware Acceleration" section. I did as you suggested, however it's giving me the same result this time. I cannot use Coherence as the start menu is half obscured.
Not having any success. I did as you requested, but I still get the error and if I try to use my applications in Coherence mode, parts are missing from the windows. I have added the drivers for my Dell 24" Monitors and have adjusted Full Screen to be 1920 X 1200 which is what Mac OS is running. As a workaround, I disabled MultiMonitor support for Coherence and it does seem to be performing better, but I do absolutely need to have multi-monitor support, as the majority of my applications are PC-based. I have narrowed it down to the following: If I choose View | Customize and select "Use Multiple Displays" under Coherence, I get the memory error immediately. Specifics for this config., hopefully we can get this resolved quickly. Host OS: OS X 10.5.2 Host is a MacPro 8-core with 2GB RAM Parallels Version is Ver. 3.0 for Mac Build 5584 (January 16,2008) Virtual Machine is Windows XP Professional 1024 MB RAM Video Memory at 64MB Resolution specified in Windows Displays is 1920 X 1200 Monitors are 2 X Dell E248WFP. Hope this information is helpful.
[Bump] Don't mean to nudge here, but I've got kind of a nuisance situation here with Parallels not doing what I need it to do.
Hello Scott, I am sorry for the delay. I have asked Parallels developers about your issue - they told Parallels does not support dual monitors of such big resolution. It is a current design limitation. Please try smaller resolution - 1024x768 for example. Best regards, Xenos
Is the lack of a response due to business or lack of committment to customer support? reason I ask is that after reading through the items in this forum that have been left uaddressed, it seems that the software is buggy to an extent and solutions and / or bug fixes are slow in coming. I prefer Parallels to Fusion, and on my Mac Pro 8-Core, I am currently running 3 VMs at once, 1 Parallels which I would prefer to use, and 1 Fusion for my Left and a Second for my Right monitor and to take over for when the Paralells VM misbehaves. I don't care about games, I am a business user. I care about functionality and even more importantly, I care about support.

Xenos, Tried the phone call route, was shocked that support is a per incident charge for software I had just purchased.
Sorry, hit send before I finished... The support here has been great, the problem is that to expect to knock down video resolution to 1024 X 768 is kind of ludicrous on a Mac isn't it? Are there any plans to up the resolution supported (inside the VM it does show the proper resolution) I have the machine running on a Mac Pro with 6GB of RAM so it's got enough horsepower I would think.
