I have recently installed parallels. All working well. I started my computer today and there was no desktop icon to open the program, as I have done in the past. I cleaned out m y computer yesterday and am not sure if I have deleted something

I attempted to open the program through applications and all was OK, but then there was a message saying Floppy image file/users/....../microsoft WIndowsxp/unattended.fdd

I found that others have had this message, but I didn't understand how to fix the problem. I am still new round the inner workings of Mac programing. Can any one help me out?

How am I able to get the correct desktop icon back ? I attempted to reinstall it, but it all seemed a little confusing. I really need some help

Mac users start aplications either from Apple Menu recent items
    or from the dock
or double click Macintosh hard disk and from finder select View as columns and look in the Applications folder

From the dock I have selected 4 programs as start up items including Parallels

"Keep in Dock" is another option to learn about

    Hello,

Kylie, the only thing I can add to what Hugh has said is that you can get rid of the error message about unattended.fdd by removing Floppy from VM Configuration Editor or by clicking Recreate button there. Make sure that you do not currently need Floppy. To know more details on this option please read Parallels Desktop User Guide For Mac.

    Best regards,
