Windows XP Not Installing

    I have installed Parallels for Mac successfully on my new aluminum iMac. However, when it asks to insert the Windows XP disk, my computer rejects the disk and it is automatically ejected. How can I get around this? Thanks.

    check PD Menu Devices >> CVD DVD Rom >> Connect

    hi afcisa,

    Make sure the copy is clean, faceing in the right direction, that it is not just the upgrade to Windows XP sp2. That it doesn't have a computer manufacturers ’ name on it .

    Follow the instructions for installing a VM when it requests the cd-dvd for Win xp insert follow all on screen prompts.

    You may need to make an .iso copy of xp. (Sometimes this is necessary) I will see if I can find the instructions for doing this.

    I'm sorry to be so dense but how do I find PD Menu Devices?

    hi afcisa,

    I think that Hugh is referring to the Parallels Desktop menu, near the apple Should be the upper Left. when you have selected your VM.
    Look under EDIT your configuration should look something like this:
