    Hello everyone,
I've spent a few hours looking through the forums (fora?) and learned a lot.
However, as seems always the case with user forums, the answer I'm looking
for is close but not exactly.

    So . . .

We JUST bought a new MBP from our local Apple authorized reseller. They did all the installation of Leopard, then Parallels, then Win XP SP2, then Kaspersky, then
delivered it. So we are not intimate with the actual procedures involved.

    Simple question:
Did Kaspersky come from the Parallels install CD?

If so, was there a registration key to enter to validate it? Where is it found?
If not, and we want to to remove it, and, are unsuccessful installing a competing anti-virus program, how do we re-install Kaspersky?

    Thanks everyone in advance.

    Craig

    Hello,

yes, Parallels CD has a Kaspersky installer but it seems like your version of KAV was not taken from there as it should not have asked for a registration key. Please, try to uninstall Kaspersky through Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, reboot the VM and install Kaspersky one more time from the Parallels Desktop top menu->Actions.
So, as you see, it is the way to install Kapersky if you are not satisfied with another anti-virus software that you probably want to install.

    Hello

I have exactly the same problem and did definitely use the installation via the "action" menu. De-installation and re-installation did not work. What shall I do?

We have not yet actually performed this, and may not until we get closer to the eval period expiry. I'll report back when we do actually do this.

I have the same problem :(
Just upgraded to 5584, and Kaspersky came up saying it wasn't registered.
Uninstall/reinstall via Actions menu hasn't helped - have selected trial for now until I hear further.

    thanks

Meanwhile the key has expired and the update function quit working. So I deinstalled Kaspersky and exchanged it by a free virus scanner and the Windows firewall...

    Best, Alex
