    Hey,

I'm having difficulties running my bootcamp partition in parallels (5582). It just won't start, it gets stuck with the screen that says that its installing parallel tools, but then it just quits and shows me a black screen that says boot failed. Is there anything I can do to fix this, it seems like I tried everything. I included the 4 different screens I get.

I have also tried going the other way by installing vista in parallels as a virtual drive, but it doesnt read my video card. Is there a way for it to read my video card? and perform close to bootcamp.

Thanks for your help in advanced.

    Hello,

did you have the bootcamped Windows running properly before?
Also please try to do the following:
    1. Open your Boot Camp virtual machine.
    2. Open Configuration Editor
    3. In the Resource list, click Hard Disk.
    4. In the hard disk settings pane, click the Advanced tab.
    5. In the Cleanup Boot Camp Partition area, click the Clear button.

    Will it help?

    Best regards,
    Stacey

    Hey,
Thanks. But still no luck. Bootcamp runs well even though in the beginning it says that windows was installed in a hard drive not formatted correctly. I remember formatting the hd when installing vista, so I don't know whats wrong, other than that vista runs smoothly.

    Hello,

it looks like there is a problem with boot camp partition. Is it possible to format it again using Boot Camp Assistant?

    Best regards,
    Stacey

Hey, I decided to unistall bootcamp and install vista again. But before I did, I installed vista using a vd in parallels. vista runs smooth, but for some reason i dont think it reads the video card. I cant use windows aero or play games. Is there a way to enable the card.Thanks.

    Hello,

unfortunately, Aero requires DirectX 9.0 to run.
Parallels Desktop supports DirectX 8.1. 3D support will be improved in future versions of Parallels Desktop for Mac.

    Best regards,
    Stacey

    Hey Stacy,

Thanks a lot for your help. So I decided to install a bootcamp partition again so i can play games. But after installing vista again, I face the same issue that would probably not allow me to run the bootcamp partition in parallels. Everytime I start windows, the following appears. But then windows runs smoothly.

    Booting 'Windows Vista'

    acpi
    Vista loader 2.1.2
    Done!
    fallback 1
    find--se-root /bootmgr

Warning: Unrecognized partition table for drive 80. Please rebuild it using
    a Microsoft - compatible FDISK tool (err=4) current C/H/S/=266305/255/63
    (hd 0.2)
Filesystem type ntfs, partition type 0x7
    chainloader /bootmgr

Warning: Unrecognized partition table for drive 80. Please rebuild it using
    a Microsoft - compatible FDISK tool (err=4) current C/H/S/=266305/255/63

Will boot NTLDR from drive=0x80 partition 0x2(hidden sectors=oxf664028

    Hey,

It finally worked, I get no message when I run bootcamp, and my bootcamp partition finally works in parallels. Thanks a lot for your help. I can finally use both os' at the same time.

    Thanks again,
    Manny

Sigh I have the exact same issue, I can't get it to work, and I don't wanna format it because I'll loose all my files too much of a hassle for backing them up.. Does anyone know how to fix the issue without format? I get the exact same error.

    Hey Yamcha67,
what you have to do is go onto windows and download something called easyBCD which sorts out your partition and allows you to load up parallels properly it worked for me and i hope it works for you also it seems to have worked for Manny Fresh.

Hey guys I still can't get it to work, what are you exactly supposed to do in easyBCD in order to make it work?? Also is easyBCD supposed to show the Leopard drive because I don't see it, unless I'm looking in the wrong place.. Appreciate your guy's time and help! thanks for the read!

    Hey Yamcha67,
what you do is click on manage bootloader in the EasyBCD window then click restore backup and everything should work. This though i think might only work with vista I'm not sure.

Hey NC91 it worked but I got a new error, now it says "Your CPU Isn't 64-Bit Compatible", it actually is btw but I still get that error. Im guessing OSX is actually 32-Bit, so it has no support running 64-Bit software or OS in this case. I know mines is 64-Bit since its a C2D E2160 @ 3.2GHZ.. Anyway if anyone knows how to get parallels working lmk! I think I might just give it up, I'm on a PC btw I use OSX x86.. still parallels should work since others have been working XP with it perfectly.. I think its the 64-bit situation..

anyway thanks for all ur help so far NC91!
