We had Parallels running WinXP SP2 connecting to a Win2003 server based network and it was working just fine.

Suddenly, the machine could no longer see the server. (The internet connection over the Mac OS was still A OK, however. )

I noted in checking the network connections on the Mac side that the Parallels portion is now Parallels-Guest, rather than Parallels NAT which it was before. The space for the router IP is just solid gray with no option to fill in a router address. It is set for DHCP,which is what we use. There is an IP address for the machine, but it is not the range our router servers. I have made sure we are still on shared networking, not Host only or Ethernet bridge.

Thoroughly stumped at this point. Any suggestions?

    Hello,

please on Mac side browse to 'Applications' -> 'Utilities' and open 'Terminal'. Run the following command there:
    sudo killall -hup pvsnatd
    Will it help?

    Best regards,
    Stacey

  3. Last night I upgraded (archive and install method) to Leopard, re-installed Parallels 5584 and re-installed Parallel Tools in my WinXP VM. Since then I've had no connectivity using shared networking (I need to use this mode so that both my VM and my Mac can communicate with my employer's network using our VPN - using Outlook from the VM and Terminal for SSH as examples).

I ran the command listed above and it worked (so far I've tested only once, so that's not conclusive as a permanent work-around).

I have seen that suggestion posted in other messages. Are you on to a possible bug and can therefore hunt for a permanent fix?
