I am trying to install suse 10.3 under parallels on a Macbook Pro OS X 104.11 I installed parallels and created a new VM as: typical -OS linux OS version Suse linux. After inserting the suse disk and starting the VM the install starts, I am asked to type linux and the install continues loading drivers ... but soon stops with the error: "Could not find openSUSE Repository. Activating manual setup program." on capturing the mouse and keyboard and returning the ok, YAST (or something similar) starts. at the start instillation or system prompt, from CD-Rom, the same error is shown. Can any body help or point me to a solution? Regards Robert
Have you tried installing from a ISO image of openSUSE? You can download a iso http://software.opensuse.org/ Hope this helps. kat PS at the bottom of the page item 5. has useful links. If you are using a downloaded version that is an iso you can install the iso by selecting MORE Options - then iso - then choose the location of your iso as your installation source
Another SUSE 10.3 issue Sorry I don't have an answer for your issue, but I've got another SUSE 10.3 problem! The install goes fine up until after the restart. I've done the install from a fresh 10.3 ISO image. Went very quick and didn't have any trouble. Just can't boot into the system now as it hangs early on in the boot process. I've also tried switching the CDROM of the VM over to the REAL CD with the same image burned to DVD. I've attached a screenshot. Any help much appreciated. Joel.
Whups! Looks like it actually finally did boot. Just took a very very very very long time. Hmmm. Let's see if the rest of the install goes fine....
