    hello, just have a quick question about playing games in parallels;
does parallels only support certain apps with directx and if not, is it possible directx manually to use in parallels?

    Hello,

Parallels Desktop supports Direct X 8.1. So you should be able to run applications that do not require DirectX 9.x to run properly.
3D support will be improved in future versions of Parallels Desktop for Mac.

    Best regards,
    Stacey

    Hello,

please open 'Configuration Editor' of your VM ('Edit' -> 'Virtual Machine') -> 'Video' tab and enable DirectX there. Will the problem persist? If so, please provide me with a screenshot of error message.

    Best regards,
    Stacey

    am i missing something completely?
when i load up the game i get this msg
"could not run in 256 colors, please change to 16 bit or higher"
however, after doing this, the msg kept appearing
i took a snapshot but cant upload for some reason
please, any help would be tremendous

Sorry for inconvenience. Unfortunately DirectX is supported only in Parallels Desktop 3.0 and 3214 is a build of Parallels Desktop 2.5.

    Best regards,
    Stacey

Yes, and you have a better integration with Leopard.

Hopefully they'll soon support directX 9.1
