Hi, If anyone can shed any light and help it would be much appreciated.

So.. here's wot happened.. opened up Parallels and Vista.. was doing some basic bits (word etc.) and suddenly parallels locked up and the little ol spinning spiral cursor appeared. So I waited a while.. still spinning.. and a bit more, got bored so thought I'd just carry on with something else on the Mac OSX .. no luck.. all frozen!. Left it all a bit longer to settle down and nothing.. only option was to try and force quit some apps... couldnt.. no response. Final solution, the power button. Shut the whole mac down (MacBook Pro). Rebooted and 'ouch!'.. everything lost!!. It created a whole new user profile which was like the basic install. Have successfully recovered most files and rebuilt the user profile but cannot for the life of me work out how to get Parallels back to where it was. Cant find and pvs file anywhere. the ONLY files I can see appear to lead me to install Parallels from scratch!.

So, any guru's out there that can shed light for me... please feel free.

    Thanks

    Wayne

    Hello,

I'm sorry, it seems that the problem was rather serious so that you won't find the .pvs file, unfortunately. For the future, it is better to do backups regularly, and backup not only an .hdd file but also a .pvs.
But anyway, you may try to search for third-party software that will possibly recover some lost files.
