I have been using Parallels successfully but suddenly I try and open Parallels and it asks me to install an operating system. When I click open on the icon on my mac desktop I get the following error message: File /Users/Jack/Documents/Parallels/Microsoft Windows XP/Microsoft Windows XP.pvs seems to be not a valid Parallels virtual machine configuration file! How do I fix this?
Hello, do you have an .hdd file? If so, please try to create a new VM using your existing .hdd file. Best regards, Stacey
HI Stacey Thanks for the quick reply. How do I creat a new VM using the existing .hdd file. I can see the file but how do I specify that the new VM use that file? Best regards Jack
In menubar please click 'File' -> 'New', select 'Custom' and then at the certain point select 'Use an existing hard disk image'. Best regards, Stacey
Hi Stacey, I think I made a big error. I actually loaded a second virtual machine...so I have one labelled Windows XP and one labelled Windows XP 1. When I now start parallels of course it goes to XP1 not XP. Sorry
Hello, please start Parallels, select the VM you want to delete and in menubar click 'File' -> 'Delete'. Best regards, Stacey
