Using VM from user account (never mind, solved... please delete)

I've installed Parallels Desktop on my system disk and have the .hdd file on a second partition. When I attempt to access it from another user account (without admin privs) I can not get it to work.

I have configured my Mac so that all day to day operations are done under a 2nd user account that does NOT have administrative privs (in the interest of security). I do all installations from my admin account. I do not want the .hdd file on my OSX system partition so I've installed in on a different partition. The virtual machine file is located on the system partition (which is named defiant) in OSX/users/shared/parallels/OSX_XP.pvs. The .hdd file is located on another partition on the same drive at OSX_2/parallels/OX_XP/winxp.hdd

When I attempt to launch the VM I get

"Unable to lock out the configuration file"

If I click the play button after dismissing that dialog I get:

Parallels Desktop is unable to access the virtual hard disk image file /Volumes/OSX_2/Parallels/OSX_XP/winxp.hdd. The file is used by other application. (should read "The file is being used by another application")

    OK... I follow these instructions:

    http://kb.parallels.com/entry/28/520/

... however those instruction are useless because it's COMPLAINING ABOUT ITS OWN LOCK!!! I followed the instructions and deleted the lock file but as soon as you launch parallels it reinstates the lock so it is in effect complaining about its own lock.

Note that these problems are only when logged in via the user account. Under the administrative account everything is fine but that's NOT an option here. It MUST run under the user account as well as any other additional user accounts that I create in the future.

Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated!

Mac Pro (Jan '08 8 core)
2 Gigs of RAM (soon to be 10)
    1 gig to Parallels Desktop
    OS 10.5.1
    Parallels Desktop v3 build 5582

    Cheers, Joe

Never mind, solved it. I figured it was a permissions issue and had changed everyone to read and write... or at least I thought I did but on double checking everything the permissions for "everyone" on the VM were not setup properly (funny... I coulda swore I changed the permissions for the VM right after I setup the .hdd file (which I did set up correctly)).

    Anyhow... everything works great now.

    Cheers, Joe
