Hi all, the windows 11 VM size is about 60GB on my mac. I am not sure if this is not too much? I have like 5GB of apps installed, it seems to be way too much compared to standard windows size. Why? I have the reclaim option enabled, no old snapshots installed.
Hello Jakub, Thank you for your post. Please note that depending on the Applications and files on the virtual machine, the size can increase. Additionally, you have to consider that Windows 11 itself takes about 15-20GB. It can sometimes have temporary files or Windows update files that were not deleted automatically by Windows 11 or were not deleted automatically yet. Inside Windows 11: 1. Go to Settings. 2. System > Storage 3. In here, you will be able to have a better idea of what is using how much storage. 4. If you see that the Temporary Files are using a lot of space, you can click on it, and you will have options to clear it. To add to the above, you can also check the Bin inside Windows 11 to check if any files are in there as they will still use up storage space if they are in the Bin. Regards, Parallels Team
Hi Keshav, according to your response the size is not adding up. The windows size should be about 15-20GB, then we add up the applications (I have 3 applications downloaded) in total 5.5GB (including their files), temporary files are showing me 80MB. About application, the windows info is showing me 16.5GB in apps, but inside I can only see those 3 downloaded apps, other things are system apps, like weather, notepad, paint etc. The only two things without info of size are: Microsoft edge (which i can not remove) and Remote Desktop Connection, which i guess I need for accessing the VM. Even with 16.5GB in apps, I should have windows of size 36-40GB at max! But mine has about 62GB in total. No backups, no old files, everything is already cleared, please tell me what are those extra GBs ): Regards Jakub
