Proxmox VE as VDI Provider

Additional VDI providers would be great, Proxmox is a good start!

 

Any update on this would be great! VMware keeps opening the door for other hypervisors to take the void they are leaving in the SMB space. Just learned of their new licensing model.

My company just got hit with the dreaded 3x price increase from Broadcom/VMware and I don't think the renewal quote is going to be approved. We renewed like a month before they EOL'd the Standard licensing SKU. We really need Proxmox VE VDI provider support. I just don't understand why they can't continue to sell us the vSphere Standard license. Sure, all the stuff in the full-feature VVF license is great, but we can survive without it.

 

Totally understand where you're coming from; we're hearing similar feedback from many organizations impacted by similar changes. We're actively working on expanding hypervisor support. Proxmox support is definitely included, along with support for other providers, because we recognize that organizations want flexibility and don't want to be locked into a single virtualization platform.
