Several Parallels manual instructions direct selecting Configure, Hardware, Serial Ports. Then if Serial Ports are not listed to select 'Add' (+) and add Serial Ports. My installation no serial ports are listed and the add (+) is grayed out and non-responsive. I need to have some com ports.

This usually happens when the virtual machine is running or not fully shut down. Try powering off the VM completely, then open Configure and check Hardware again. Also make sure the VM is not set to a restricted hardware profile. Updating Parallels and reinstalling Parallels Tools can sometimes restore missing hardware options.

    Thank you RyanWilliams
That did it. I needed to learn what fully shut down looked like. When I followed your instructions the Serial Port option appeared. What I am trying to do is get a Win11 program ( a ham radio logger program N1MM+) to 'see' a virtual COM port generated by a Software Defined Radio Program (SmartSDR MacOS). Oddly if I set the logger parameters to Port: TCP and address 192...46:5001 to match the radio program the radio program shows "Connected" but data is not displayed by the logger. I expected the logger to see a Com port but not so far.
    Thanks for the guidance. John
