since I'm not able to get tParallels 18 working after moving from MacBook to mac mini, I decided to download latest and give it a try.
But no luck. I consistently get this error.
    Any suggestions ?

it worked when I clicked on 'reveal in finder' and then clicked on the 'image.dmg'. Strange - but at least it worked

Yeah I ran into the same thing when I moved from an older MacBook to a Mac Studio. That installer error you're getting usually means macOS blocked part of the installer from running properly. Here's a few things that helped me:
    1. Right-click the installer and choose "Open" instead of double-clicking it -- sometimes that bypasses security restrictions.
    2. Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down, and check if there's a message like "Parallels Desktop was blocked..." -- if there is, allow it manually.
    3. Try moving the installer to your Applications folder before opening it -- weirdly, that sometimes avoids issues.
    4. Make sure you're not running it directly from the mounted .dmg. Drag the installer out to your desktop or Applications first.
Downloading it again directly from Parallels' official site is the last resort, if all above fail.
