is anyone successfully using ScanSnap in the Windows vm? I was able to install the ScanSnap software, but cannot run the ScanSnap manager directly. I can use the ScanSnap tiny icon after a fashion to "force" the ix500 to scan, but pushing the scan button does nothing. I've tried turining off the firewall, so it's not that. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Jerry
I have the same scanner (ScanSnap iX500), and wasn't able to get either ScanSnap Manager or ScanSnap Home to work with the device under Windows 11. I'm on an Apple M1 chip. It showed up in Windows device manager, but ScanSnap Home just timed out over and over trying to connect. With ScanSnap Manager, I tried using wireless set up (thinking maybe USB support is iffy), but it couldn't find the device. There is a spot where you can manually type in an IP, which I tried... it seemed to find something, but then said it wasn't supported.
Tried this again, thinking a software update between my last post and this one might have fixed it. Once again, didn't work. However, I think I know why. Since I'm on Apple silicon (an M1 chip), I'm running ARM Windows. According to this article, no ScanSnap scanner supports ARM Windows. They could have saved customers so much time if they put up a message on the download page, in the installer, or on the device set up screen saying ARM Windows isn't supported, but instead they just let the setup process time out and leave it up to you to find the support article. I hope this post saves someone time in the future.
