    Hi...
    Would appreciate some help...
    I got Windows 11 version 22H2.
    How do I update my Windows on Parallels without installing a new Windows?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    I had the same problem with one of my Windows VMs.
    I found some group policy commands here in the forum that resolve the issue for me.
    1) in the search box type GPEDIT, on the top open group Administrative Templates, then Windows Components, scroll down to Windows Updates, then Manage updates offered from Windows update
    2) On the right use Select target Feature Update version
    3) On the popup select radio button Enables, then enter Windows 11 (with the space) in the first fielld, and 24H2 in field Target Version, then click Apply
    4) I also enabled Disable safeguards for Feature Updates, but was not sure if I needed it.
    5) close the windows
    6) in the search box enter GPUPDATE /force, when it is done shut down the VM and restart again
    No run system update again and check if you get the 24H2 update

    Unfortunately this did not work for me. When I reach the "Manage Updates", I am only offered one option, which is to Remove Access to Windows Update features. There are no other buttons or option offered. Has anyone else hit this problem? Currently I am on 22H2.
    Thanks in advance, just in case anyone can help.

    Try this registry change. Worked for us changing our Win11 Pro release to user version.
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windowsupdate]
    "TargetReleaseVersion"=dword:00000001
    "ProductVersion"="Windows 11"
    "TargetReleaseVersionInfo"="24H2"

    GerhardG2's answer from above was very helpful: Windows Update in my VM was stuck, saying updates were needed but searching for updates always failed. I tried everything Microsoft suggests, without success. As suggested above I configured the Group Policy to "Windows 11" and "24H2" and suddenly Windows Update worked. After the update I removed the Group Policy, and the problem seems to be completely solved by now. Thanks

    It is stupid that this is a thing, but this post is brilliant and immediately solved my issue.

    With a process as straightforward, easy, and obvious as this it's hard to believe some people are having issues. What do people want? A single button that says "Update to the latest version?" Where's the fun in that? I appreciate the upgrades I have to work a little harder for.

    Didn't work for me ... all it did was change my Windows Enterprise to a Windows Pro but still 23H2

    Philip did you ever get it working? I made the changes as well and Windows update still isnt recognizing any updates even though I still have 22h2.

    I ended up deleting the entire VM and re-installing it. Mind you, as I have a Windows Enterprise license (which Parallels does NOT configure), I had to manually link my device to EntraID and then sign in manually with my E5 license. In the end I now have an activated Win11 Enterprise License 24H2 ...

    Glad you got it all working. I've decided to give up and just wait around for Windows 12, I really only use my Windows to play a certain game and all of my professional work etc can be done through my Mac directly.
