I was wondering if anyone has this problem ? When using RAS Client up to v20 on Windows 11 24H2 and opening a windows from the main windows (MDI-app), the new windows show part of the underlaying window. Sometimes part of the white in the new windows is even inverted to black. This only happens with Windows 11 24H2. I tested this on several recent HP desktops, 1 laptop and 1x Gigabyte mainboard. All machines use Intel CPU. I updated Win11 24H2 fully, updated to the latest drivers to no avail. When I do a reinstall but with Windows 11 23H2, everything is working normally. This problem seems to be related to Windows 24H2. So, it looks no Windows 24H2 until this is solved Does anyone else experience this problem with Windows 24H2 ?
Hi JemA1, My name is Mark Howell, a product manager for Parallels RAS. I have a 24H2 laptop that I can verify this on. Once verified I will take the appropriate actions on my end to get this investigated. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Not that I think it is relevant, but what version of RAS are you running? Cheers, Mark Howell
Hi Mark, I forget my credentials for the forum and just foud out I kept it saved on this computer I am typing from... Don't know the RAS version, however the system a very old Windows 2003 system. The problem I mentioned only happens when a Windows 11 24H2 client connects to our Windows 2003 server. This happens with ALL RDP connections. It might also have impact on 2008,2012 and maybe 2016 RDP servers. If other people are experiencing this issue, please restore your computer to Windows 11 23H2 or copy the following RDP-files from a Windows 11 23H2 computer. C:\Windows\System32\mstsc.exe C:\Windows\System32\mstscax.dll C:\Windows\System32\en-US\mstsc.exe.mui * C:\Windows\System32\en-US\mstscax.dll.mui * C:\Windows\SystemResources\mstsc.exe.mun C:\Windows\SystemResources\mstscax.dll.mum * The location of these 2 files depent on the Windows language you are using. E.g. en-GB, de-DE, nl-NL etc. Here a article explaining the replacement of RDP-files more in details: https://www.petenetlive.com/kb/article/0001901
I hate when I forget my credentials that are saved on my primary computer Thank you for this information. We're seeing an uptick in the use of Windows 11 24H2 so this information really helps. I have a Win11 24H2, pointing to a Server 2022 farm with no issues. So understanding the environment is helpful. I will pass this information onto our support team. Mark.
