This means that i can not alter any VM spec: memory network etc.!

I did try delete all .plist; preffs etc. but its all the same!?

    Any suggestions?

Running 5582, on the latest leopard10,5,1

    1. Shutdown your virtual machine. Parallels will quit.

    2. Launch Parallels while holding down the command key. That will prevent the VM from starting up.

    3. Now you can edit the VM options. In the General section, go to the booting tab and uncheck "Exit application on VM shutdown."

Hi Alicia. Thanks, but there is no error msg !

And Chris, thanks for the hint ab holding command down while starting - it worked.

However VM still shuts down Parallel when stopping VM?

This all came after upgrading to Leopard

    Hello,

please, try to reinstall Parallels Desktop. Will the problem still occur after that?

    Best regards,
    Alicia.

    Hello,

While pressing the Command key, double-click the virtual machine's alias.
Or while pressing the Command key, start Parallels Desktop from the Applications folder. If you have more then one virtual machines, select the virtual machine you need to launch in the Select virtual machine dialog and click the Select button.
Thus you'll access Configuration Editor, open Options tab->Booting and disable "Exit application on VM shutdown"

    Best regards,
    Alicia.

Hi Alicia, Up in reply #3 Chris suggested that - its working when i start the VM, then i can ajust the settings.
If i hold the command key wheile starting Parallel from app folder, nothing happens, it just start in the "OS installation assistent" and when i cancel this one, the app quit's!

    Hello,

please, try to create a new vm using your existing .hdd. Will it start and quit properly then? If yes, you can delete the first vm after that and use the new one.

    Best regards,
    Alicia.

    Hello,

Do you start PD using Parallels Desktop.app application or you start the VM directly via the .pvs file?
You see, if you use the .pvs for starting the VM, PD will always close after the VM shut down no matter what settings it has (even if it is set not to exit the application when the VM is stopped).

    Best regards,
    Alicia.

    Dear Alicia.

If You see my symtoms in #8 There i say that its all the same, then Parallel just start the assistent.
So i HAVE to use .pvs file to start either the command key to alther the settings or use the directly
