    Hello everyone,

I have installed the latest version of Parallels Remote Application Server along with Parallels Client Version 20.1.0 (build 25633) (64-bit) on Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11. We have published multiple applications instead of using the remote desktop function.

Everything works fine when accessing the remote apps on a single monitor. However, when using multiple monitors, I've encountered an issue where the remote apps tend to bring themselves to the foreground unexpectedly.

    1. Setup:
    - Monitor 1: Open "Remote Explorer."
    - Monitor 2: Open "Remote Microsoft Excel."

    2. Action:
    - Open a locally installed Paint application.
    - Position the Paint application over the "Remote Microsoft Excel" window on monitor 2.

    3. Issue:
    - When clicking on "Remote Explorer" on monitor 1, the "Remote Microsoft Excel" window on monitor 2 unexpectedly comes to the front.
    - As a result, the Paint application is pushed to the background.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I'm not sure if it's directly related to the parallels setup.
A possible workaround I've found is to minimize the remote apps that are not currently in use.

I appreciate any insights or solutions you might have!

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting.

Seems that this relates to z-order experience, when using both local and multiple remote RAS apps in the same session. If different remote RAS apps are in different sessions this is not experienced. However, to make better use of resources, and continue to use multiple remote RAS apps in same session along with local without background/foreground issues, Parallels provides this reg key as highlighted in the admin guide (as experimental) https://docs.parallels.com/parallel...mon-management-tasks/resolving-z-order-issues where in your case seems to require EnableRemoteAppFixes DWORD with value 4.

In the upcoming version (targeting the coming month) you will no longer need to set this registry as this and other capabilities in this area are to centrally managed form the Parallels RAS console.

Let us know how you proceed with the above.

    Hi Christian,
thank you very much, we will directly try this and let you know.
Is this a local client parameter or for the terminal server?

    Kind Regards

we tested the registry "EnableRemoteAppFixes DWORD with value 4", but it does not resolve the problem so far. ;(
