I have been working with Parallels support regarding a PVMP file that refuses to Unpack. The PVMP file check sum is correct however when the prl_packer_inplace executable tries to run, it can not complete the unpacking process due to a corrupted CONFIG.PVS file. I also cannot view the contents of the PVMP file. Is there another method to unpacking these PVMP files using a third party software such as Unzip One or other archive/compression tool? Using Terminal to run the prl_packer_inplace program does not seem to work and when it appears to be entered correctly, it simply does not produce any output. I have been dealing with multiple individuals in Parallels support that are giving me incorrect terminal commands and after a while with their engineering department have essentially given up on troubleshooting. To any others - DO NOT USE the Paralles Transfer tool - it DOES NOT create a copy and if there is any failure in the process, your PVM is gone. I have been a Parallels user for 12 years but if and when this is resolved, I don't think I can reliably use this software again.
