I understand that EPLAN Electric P8 is a native Windows application, however, I was hoping to leverage virtualization software to run the program on my Mac. Could I run EPLAN Electric P8 on MacOS using Parallels Desktop ? Please advise if this is a supported configuration and, if so, are there any specific considerations or limitations I should be aware of? Some are saying that it won't run because M1-3 processors from apple missing avx instruction set and these virtual are not able to provide it. The laptop is a MacBook M2 Pro with 16GB RAM. Thank you for your time and assistance! The software specifications are listed here:https://www.eplan.com/int/en/main-g...tware-requirements/hardware-requirements.html
Running EPLAN platform 2023 for 2 years on parralels without problem......(Running on M2 Pro 32Gb, Parallels 20) But since Eplan 2024/2025 requires AVX2 i am stuck on version 2023. Hope they make it work on Parallels 21.
become a Microsoft insider, and join the Canary channel. install build 27744 and you would be able to install EPLAN.
Parallels might work, but EPLAN needs AVX, which Apple Silicon doesn't have. So, it'll likely crash or not even open--basically, your M2 Pro can't run EPLAN right now.
Read what I wrote... I am running EPLAN S8 2024 on the M2 Mac using Parallels and Windows for ARM registered in the Microsoft insider program and with build 27744
