I have a Windows 11 laptop. I can connect to that laptop from my M2 Mac running Sonoma over my LAN using a network cable or the WiFi.
I thought that I would be able to use Parallels 20 to create a Windows 11 VM, isolate Windows from Mac, and then connect to the Windows VM as if it was a separate computer with a network connection. I don't need coherence. I just want to essentially have two separate networked computers without having to lug two computers around with me.

Is this possible? I have checked the knowledge base and the suggestion seems to be look for the Windows VM in the Finder-->Network orFinder-->Go--> Go to Server option. However, my VM does not show up in either of these (Yes it is running).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Try this. First, remove any Windows and Mac sharing. (Configure/Options/Sharing). Open the Windows VM and verify the IP addresses are in your network (command prompt/ipconfig and then IPV4 address and Default Gateway address). No guarantee, but if all those conditions are met, you should have a stand alone Mac and Windows machine that are on your network.
