    Hi. :)

    I'm using Microsoft Front Page to make my blog and want to add photos. My photos are all on the Mac OS, using iPhoto software.

    I tried copying and pasting photos from Mac to Front Page, but this doesn't work. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? My blog is looking bare. :(

    I'm running Parallels Build 3214 (June 21, 2007) on a MacBook with 1.25 GB RAM. The Mac software is OS X 10.4.11. Windows OS is 2000.

    Thanks! Happy New Year!

    What are you trying to do? Get the files to reside on the Windows side? Set-up a Shared folder? Or access the folders from the OS X side directly via the app?

    I am trying to move pictures from Iphoto on the Mac side to the Windows side in order to use them on my web blog, as I design on Microsoft Front Page.

    Thank you! :)

    Well, Dragging and dropping them into Windows Explorer would work, you could also look at setting up a shared folder.

    Shared folder setup

    Can you walk me through setting up a shared folder that will be let me put these photos from Mac OS to Windows on Parallels?

    Thanks! :)

    I think first you will want to export the photos from iPhoto to a folder on your desktop (or to a shared folder).

    Directions for shared folder setup are in the parallels documentation. You will have a folder that you can see on both the windows side and the Mac side.

    Hello all,

    Musigal, you can share any Mac folder in Configuration Editor (Start your Virtual Machine but do not launch the Guest OS, click Configuration). Choose Shared Folders in the menu on the left side of the window and add the folder you wish to share. Now you will be able to reach this folder from Windows and take the pictures from it.

    Copy-pasting from Mac to Windows should normally work but in 5582 build this feature gets broken after the installation of the last Apple update. This issue will be fixed in the next build currently being developed by Parallels Team.

    With best wishes for a Happy New Year,
    Xenos

    Purplish: I think I'm going to make copies of the pictures I want, as I don't want to move my entire library to Windows. Then I can move the ones I want to the shared folder. You're right. The instructions are in the manual. I was just feeling a little lazy. ;) Thanks for your help.

    Xenos: Thanks for the info. :) I think I have a shared folder set up. It's not often I really play with Parallels. I've had several issues probably from lack of true Windows knowledge that have frustrated me. I will keep you posted.

    Happy New Year to all and thank you for your responses! Among the computer forums I subscribe to, this one has been the best with good responses.

    Hi Xenos! :) I just finally tried this and while it was a snap to do, now I can't see any photos!

    What I did is I shared my Iphoto folder from Parallels. When I try to pull up a picture, I don't see it. My files are saved in JPEG format.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Hello Joanna,

    Could you please let me see a number of screenshots for I could have a clear idea of the issue?
    I would like to see:

    - Shared Folders settings in Configuration Editor;
    - Your Iphoto folder opened on Mac side;
    - Your Iphoto folder opened on Windows side;
    - What you get after double clicking a picture.

    Thank you in advance!

    Best regards,
    Xenos
