In its current form, Parallels RAS autoscaling has the ability to remove hosts from a pool (and that is nice), but the ultimate cost savings in Azure (and I am assuming AWS as well) would be if the Parallels RAS autoscaling feature would allow the hosts to be removed from the host pool (the way they are today), but then to be optionally deleted from the environment entirely and then reprovisioned if/when necessary. It is my understanding that cloud providers still charge for virtual machines that are in a powered off state. Even if, in that state, the cost is less than a powered on virtual machine, it is still an unnecessary cost if the virtual machine is no longer needed.

Hi @RichardM57, the scenario you are describing is supported by Parallels RAS for Azure Virtual Desktop and Azure by configuring the 2 settings below on the host pool object in RAS. The first setting will not just remove the host from the pool but also delete it from Azure.
    - Remove hosts from host pool after drain and power off
    - Add new or power on existing hosts when workloads is above (%)
