After upgrading to 5582 I get no sound in windows VM. All settings look good..all drivers say all is well--no errors or bad symbols in Device Mgr. I need the sound for my training.....anyone have a clue?

Same problem here; after 10/15 minutes the sound disappears; to get it I have to restart the VM...very annoying...!

I'm having the same problem. I am running Windows XP on Macbook 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 1GB RAM. I've installed Paralells tools as advised. I've even reinstalled the whole program, and still no sound. I am running the latest version. Need the sound for college program. Very impressed with the way this programs runs, so will be purchasing if I can get the sound sorted. Please help!

i am running xp with 5582, on a macbook. i have installed and reinstalled parallels tools and it does not install the sound drivers.

is there somewhere we can download the drivers separately? if parallels tools doesn't do it if we have the drivers we can install them ourselves, we don't really want to be waiting for the next update.

edit: this worked for me btw

Thanks for the reply. I tried the solution provided through the above link. However, there is no "multi-media audio controller" option in the drivers list. However, the "AC 97 Controller" is installed in the sound drivers. Someone mentioned removing drivers because of a clash. Tried this, and had to do a total reinstall of Windows XP. I am not very proficient on windows I'm afraid.
