I am facing now for a lot of month a problem when moving information around, e.g. a word selection in Wordpad: - moving outside of the writing area does not show a "no go" cursor different from the standard - activating a key in addition (STRG/CTRL) does not change the mouse pointer at all All the related functionality is still o.k. and the loss of visual information is something I have got used to. My problem is the usage in web-meetings or when I do some educational recordings. My workaround so far is an additional remote access to a real WinPC but this is not a solution while I am traveling and it seems to be something I would like to avoid. BTW Parallels support has done an analysis and so far the only reaction has been "is reproducible". Now I am facing the question what to do when I buy my next MBP. Should I do begin to evaluate other virtualisation software?
It seems that I am the only observing this problem or that I am the only one specifying this as a relevant problem. Purchase of a new MBP is on its way. Will use it with Win11 and will definitely try out other virtualisation software. I have to do screen recordings for educational processes where I definitely need the correct visualisation of mouse pointers, e.g. see the difference between move and copy.
First discussions and support from Paralles is dating back to at least June 2023 without a solution up to now. In a few weeks I will receive a new MBP and try it out with Win11. If without success I will try out different virtualization approaches. Up to now I create videos with correct mouse pointer behavior based on remote desktop connections to a Win10 machine. Either problem has low priority or is an observation only noticeable for me or can not be solved at all.
In fullscreen and windowed mode the shape of the mouse cursor is not changed. BUT, in coherence mode the pointer changes shape!. Although not on Ctrl Key press. My app changes the pointer on Ctrl keypress and that doesn't work in coherence mode either.
Pointer options "Display pointer trails" will modify the behavior. BUT, even with the shortest setting for visibility it is not the best possible solution for my video recording (and I have deactivated it).
