Hello all, Now that Sonoma has come up and is the default for macOS virtual machine, how do I install a Ventura virtual machine? I already tried without success creating a .iso from the Ventura installer and downgrading from Sonoma. Please help. Thanks
Same issue here as well. When attempting to create a Ventura VM in Sonoma on an M2 Max MacBook Pro I receive the message: "Cannot retrieve the hardware model data."
Hello, Currently, it is possible to install a macOS virtual machine on Mac computer with Apple M-series Chip only of the same macOS version as that installed on the Mac. Hence, if you wish to create a macOS virtual machine with a different macOS version, it is necessary to create it on a Mac running that version, and then transfer the resulting .macvm file to the destination Mac. More information on this is described in this article. Thank you.
I tried that and it didn't work! See: https://forum.parallels.com/threads/ventura-vm-on-monterey-on-same-macbook-error.361080/ Which has received no response!! Rail
I succeeded in creating a virtual macOS Ventura on an M4 Mac mini today as follows. In Parallels (desktop pro used here) Create New, select "Install Windows, Linux or macOS from an ipsw image file, [ https://mrmacintosh.com/ https://updates.cdn-apple.com/2023F...1820931/UniversalMac_13.6_22G120_Restore.ipsw] click continue, then select the image file and it ran the installation.
