I have a MacBook Air Intel 2020. I recently wiped out the SSD and started anew with a fresh Ventura 13.5 installation + Parallels Desktop 17. I tried installing Windows 10, but right after the installation process, at the first Windows 10 boot screen, it fails just before showing the login screen: I can see the Windows 10 themes, with the rock on the sea. This has happened twice. The Parallels Desktop app says there are no newer updates. Anyone any idea? Best, Luigi.
Hello. We have checked the automated reports and the situation with crashes in Parallels Desktop 17 is related to the release of macOS Ventura, only Parallels Desktop 18 is fully compatible with this operating system. We recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of Parallels Desktop. However, if you would like to keep using Parallels Desktop 17, as a workaround, please try to disable SharedShortcuts in config.pvs file. To disable SharedShortcuts, please perform the following steps: 1. Shut down the Virtual Machine. Make sure that the virtual machine is shut down. If it is in a suspended state, please run it and then shut down (Actions > Shut Down). 2. Click on the Parallels Desktop icon in the Mac menu bar -> select Control Center. Note: You can also right-click on the Parallels Desktop application icon in the dock -> select Control Center. 3. Right-click on your virtual machine and select "Show in Finder". 4. Right-click on the .pvm file -> "Show package contents". 5. Right-click config.pvs -> "Open with" -> "TextEdit" -> locate the following string: <SharedShortcuts>1</SharedShortcuts> 6. Change the value from 1 to 0. 7. Press the Command-S shortcut to save changes. 8. Start your virtual machine, and check if the issue persists. If the issue persists, please reproduce the issue and collect an additional technical report (click on the Parallels icon > Help > Send technical data > check "Attach screenshots..." > press Send Report), and send the report's 9-digit ID in a reply message.
