I'm trying to install the driver for a CP 2104 based USB device but always fail (autosearch, select driver from path as well as via win-update) - is there any trick I can use to force this installation or is there another workaround ? Thanks for helping! BR Markus

Dear Pramesh, thanks for your reply. I have a hardware dongle (based on CP 2104) which I plug into the Mac, then the system detects the device: Followed by the statement that the driver wansd't installed: Manual updating doesn't work: Windows update doesn't recognize any issue: The manual installation is always aborted with "couldn't find any driver" I have tried all sorts of Silabs drivers but always the same problem My Report ID is: 429685734 The software in question is here - although it's not required until the Silabs CP 2104 is properly reckognized. Hello, The Apple Silicon M-series chip has an Arm architecture (unlike the x86/x64 architecture typical of classic desktop processors). And in a virtual machine on a Mac with an M-series chip, it is currently possible to run only Window 11 Arm--the Windows version for processors with Arm architecture (for example, it is used on devices with mobile chips like Microsoft Surface Pro X). And indeed, despite the built-in compatibility layer that allows you to run x86/x64 applications on Windows Arm, some applications, or drivers do not work. We advise you to contact the Silabs support team to inquire about when support Windows 11 ARM will be implemented.
Dear Pavel, thanks for the reply - I see and will start looking for a Win/Intel Computer for this purpose as I'm not hoping for a quick solution with Silabs & co ! BR Markus
