    Hi There:
    I just received an IMAC 24 with 3 gigabytes of RAM and 750 GB hard drive space. I initially installed PARALLELS BUILD # 5160 and it kept bombing out when I tried launching it. So in my infinite wisdom, I ran the software update and then KABOOOOOOOM!!!!!!! I am no longer able to even open up PARALLELS. The following is the error message I get:

    Parallels Desktop is unable to access the virtual hard disk image file /Users/BADTAD/Documents/Parallels/Microsoft Windows XP/winxp.hdd. The file is used by other application.

    I tried rebooting the system a number of times and I ran "top" in a console window but was unable to locate parallels or the winxp.hdd. I installed WIN XP SP2 on PARALLELS BUILD # 5160 and I have OS X 10.5.1 as the base MAC OS.

    Any ideas how to get this to work???

    Thanks - Mike

    No Luck

    Hi There:
    I was unable to find the lck file. I did find lck files for Dreamweaver - but not for Parallels. Any other ideas? I was thinking of deleting and reinstalling but was unsure if Parallels only allows one activation?

    Thanks;
    Mike

    Hi,

    Solved my problem by doing a force quite on Parallels and then Parallels restarted with no problem.

    I'm not sure why this problem started.

    Thanks and Seasons Greetings,

    GHGill
