I just upgraded to build 5582 and everything was working fine. I rebooted the VM at one point and Parallels Tools automatically installed. Now I have no mouse and keyboard in the VM. Whenever I click in the window, my mouse disappears and the VM doesn't respond to any input whatsoever. I've even tried the Actions>Send Keys menu and no response from the VM at all. The VM IS running though! The startup programs run, etc. Just no connection to my keyboard and mouse.

One other interesting thing... when I resize the window, the VM desktop does not resize like it used to.

I've tried uninstalling Parallels, killing all the pref files and reinstalling, but no love. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Dana

I think I might try re-installing Parallel Tools and then reboot system. My installation works fine.

I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling Parallels Tools. To do that, first make sure everything in OS X has been saved (there is a small risk here that you will have to force restart your computer). Then go to the Parallels menu while Windows is running and look at the listing under "Devices" > "USB". You should see your computer keyboard listed there (if you are using a laptop it will probably be called "Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad"). Select it, and you should be able to press the Windows key to make the Start menu appear. If that works, use the arrow, tab, and return keys to navigate to "Control Panel" > "Add or Remove Programs" and then select to remove "Parallels Tools". After Parallels Tools is uninstalled, select from the Parallels menu "Actions" > "Install Parallels Tools..." to reinstall it and you will (hopefully), after restarting Windows, regain keyboard control in the Mac OS and be able to use your VM normally again.

Thanks for the reply, however, I have no keyboard listed in the USB list. Any ideas on how to restore it?

Can you post your USB devices list here?

I got it figured out. There was an option called "Apple - Wireless". It didn't even dawn on me that that was my keyboard and mouse. Once I discovered that, I was able to follow your instructions and I'm back in business. Thanks a bunch!!!
