I'm using 5580 and windows XP. Parallels tools was updated. When I move my mouse from mac to windows, I get a windows mouse pointer with the mac pointer on top. While usable, it looks weird.

    Hello alanpetersen,

Could you right-click the Parallels icon in the right bottom corner of your VM window and open Parallels Tools Center, choose Mouse Synchronization, make a screenshot and send it attached to your next post, please?

    Best regards,
    Xenos

OK, I just updated to 5582 and the mouse behavior continues. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a screenshot with it, but I was able to capture a movie with iShowU...

As you can see, mouse synchronization is enabled, and as I move from mac to VM the mac mouse pointer is still visible.

Alan, please try reinstalling Parallels Tools.
Do you always get this issue or does this just happen when using any particular program?

    Best regards,

This problem started with 5580, and it happens for all applications within the guest OS.

Yes, I uninstalled PT and then reinstalled and I get the same behavior: doubled-up mouse pointer (mac on top of windows).

Alan, I'm going to make a report to developers on your issue but I need to know before - what is your Host OS?

    Best regards,
    Xenos

    Dear Alan and Oli,

Thank you for sending me the test results. According to the logs, Parallels Tools are working properly. Video and mouse drivers are loaded and they are not supposed to cause any problems.

Please check if the issue is caused by Acceleration Level settings. Right click your Virtual Machines' desktop and choose Properties -> Settings –> Advanced –> Troubleshoot –> Hardware acceleration. The Acceleration Level should be set to Full. If the slider is moved on the left, even on a single division, the mouse will not work properly.

    Best regards,
    Xenos
