Boot camp used to work fine, install Parallels, no mouse or keyboard support in Windows via Parallels, reboot into Botocamp Xp, no more keyboard and mouse there either.

This is the second time this happens and at first I thought it was a corrupt XP install, but now I know that's not the case. How can I fix my keyboard and mouse? This is on a 15" intel macbook.

USB mouse don't work, neither does the trackpad.

Try booting Windows to Safe Mode while in VM (hit F8 when Windows is booting) and re-installing Parallels Tools. If it won't help - try following this KB article on Windows repair.

I don't know if this si the same issue or i mine is actually related to Parallels. But because Boot Camp and Parallels are so closely related, I thought I would post.

My keyboard and mouse work just fine under Parallels, but suddenly when I boot into windows (via boot camp) I get no keyboard, no mouse, no USB period. No external USB devices seem to work. This holds true booting in safe mode as well. The keyboard works for all the pre-windows prompts, but once windows boots, nothing works.

One recommendation was to run the repair option from the windows installer, but mine had some stapes not mentioned in the instructions. Once that option is selected, I am asked to chose a windows installation to perform it on. Being as I only have one, I select "1". After that I am asked for the admin password and brought to a DOS prompt. The best I could figure from there is to run CHKDSK. Is this how the repair process is supposed to work?

I tried re-installing parallels tools, but still no luck in bootcamp. And the leopard windows drivers won't install from the Leopard install CD while in Parallels (which I kind of expected to not work).

I don't even know what to try when I can't even input anything into the OS. Luckily everything works fine when booted from parallels, which is more important, but still...
